Kidogo Art Scholarship Program

Kidogo Art Scholarship Program

For Gifted and Talented Emerging Artists

'Great nations write their autobiographies in three manuscripts: the book of their deeds, the book of their words and the book of their art.'
John Ruskin

Our scholarship program offers a rare opportunity for emerging artists to study with a group of Australia's most talented art students and learn from some of the most prominent artist professionals.

Our Aim

is to offer 20 scholarships to Australia's most gifted and talented emerging painters.

Our Vision

is to provide an opportunity for our most creative emerging artists to study alongside equally brilliant peers, thus raising the bar for everyone.

Our Philosophy

We believe that art students should be nurtured and taught through encouragement rather than criticism at the commencement of their careers. Our approach relies on leadership, demonstration and learning from top professionals and is underpinned by years of international experience.

The Scholarship is based solely on merit.

What's special about the Kidogo Art Scholarship Program?

Our program is designed to encourage the mastery of traditional techniques of painting and drawing as well as a comprehensive understanding of art fundamentals.

Our courses are wholly designed to encourage talented students towards fulfilment of their artistic potential. Our programs interweave studio practice, research, colour theory, design, art history and professional practice.

We have a reputation for creating and providing a vibrant environment in which our art students can blossom.

Our program is modelled on the European art education system. Local, interstate and visiting international artists are invited to work with the students in 'blocks' ranging from a 1-hour lecture to a 2-4 week project.

As we are set up to respond to professional art opportunities in an immediate and flexible manner, we are able to attract and offer our students experiences' that might otherwise be missed. Kidogo Arthouse's galleries offer students the privilege of being able to interact with exhibiting professional artists.
