“Now, I invite you the viewer to bring your own experiences and imagination to the reading of each painting. There are many, many stories to tell and each one unique—the blue print of one’s soul…” (Ivana St John)
Ivana St John’s latest and largest solo exhibition ‘From Venus With Love’ was inspired and conceived in Vienna after her travels through Eastern Europe two years ago. On returning home to Perth she was ready to begin a new art project which culminated in in this exciting solo exhibition at Kidogo Arthouse Gallery. The artworks in this new exhibition are from Ivana’s own imaginative journey reflecting on not only her travels but tracing moments through her life. She uses her skills as an artist to interpret this on to the painting surface.
“An astonishing creative journey begins with a first splash of poured colours onto a white surface. Soon, kaleidoscopes of colours propose a possibility of a story in making. A birth place of an image forms and a silent partnership between the artist and the painting develops…” (Ivana St John)
