Come along to a special Sivalinga puja in the Ocean at Kidogo Arthouse on Bather's Beach - 10am on Saturday 11th September 2010...

Every living being in this universe is an individual soul. This soul will continue to reincarnate so as to experience the consequences of it’s karma (action) during previous births.

The karma brought forward from previous life times is known as” prarabdha” karma. As directed by the Almighty God, the Navagrahas determine the appropriate consequences of our actions either in this life or in previous lives and they merely allow us to experience the good & bad according to the law of karma.

The 9 planets of the Navagrahas rotate individually at a regular interval & at a specific speed. Thus the transit of different planets to particular raasis (Different houses in astrological chart) is an ongoing process, which can enable one to experience the consequences periodically.

Amma says “The effect of the past action can definitely be reduced by actions in the present. When a stone is thrown upwards, normally it is destined to fall down to the earth, but can’t it be caught in the mid air? Similarly relying on God and making the proper effort, we can prevent the sorrows and reduce the effect of Prarabdha Karma”.

With Amma’s divine sankalpa (Divine resolve), the Sivalinga puja is organized to minimise the negative consequences of our Prarabdha Karma.

What is the speciality of this Sivalinga puja in the Ocean?

One of the meaning of Siva is “auspiciousness”. Auspiciousness has no particular form. Auspiciousness knows no distinction of class or race. The word ”Lingam” also refers to the principal into which everything ultimately dissolves or merges.

The Sivalingam is a miniature representation of the egg shaped universe. By worshiping the Sivalingam we are worshipping the entire cosmos seeing it as an embodiment of auspiciousness and divine consciousness.

The image of Lord Sivalingam represents the non dual aspects of the Supreme that purifies our sins. Siva is the divine filter who receives the prarabdhas and impurities of the people. He is the supreme dweller and He is beyond everything.

Thus a special puja to Lord Sivalingam is conducted by Swami Ramakrishnananda puri from India, one of the senior most disciples of Sri Matha Amritanandamayi (affectionately known as Amma), in the ocean shores as the ocean is the embodiment of vedas, the giver of bliss, destroyer of fear & sin, remover of the cosmic delusion, who helps one to cross the samsara of life.

This special puja, under the guidance of Swamiji ,offers a rare opportunity to participate in a powerful, moving and transforming experience.
