Deborah Bonar and Ella Taylor at Wardarnji Festival (from left)

Wardarnji sand sculpture by Deborah Bonar and Ella Taylor
Aboriginal artists studying at Kidogo Art Institute created a unique temporary sand artwork at the Fremantle Arts Centre as part of the Wardarnji Festival.

The Wardarnji Festival is an annual celebration of Aboriginal culture held during the Fremantle Festival.

Artists Deborah Bonar and Ella Taylor designed the sand sculpture to represent elements of the land and its people coming together in harmony.

Aboriginal artists studying a Certificate III visual art course at Kidogo Art Institute also had works on display in a group exhibiton at the Fremantle Arts Centre.

The exhibition has been extended and will be on display until Monday 22 November.

More information on the Aboriginal Artist Program can be found on the Kidogo website.
