ABOUT LILLIAN:
CULTURAL HERITAGE: Boodjar Yorga ( Aboriginal Woman of the South West) from the Nyoongar Area.
BACKGROUND:
Lillian started painting in early high school and when she was 15 - 16 years old she went to Wongutha Caps ( Christian Aboriginal Boarding School) in Esperance. She participated in collaborative art works and murals at school and painted a massive python for a school banner.
Lillian paints mainly animals and landscapes as she was first taught to paint these subjects from her father and the very first animals she painted were a tortoise and goanna. Lillian paints mainly from photography books and travel books and her favourite landscape to paint is the hills & bush located at the back of Bunbury in the Buraukep Area.
