About the event
A founding member of the pioneering Warumpi Band, Neil Murray is one of Australia's most important and enduring songwriters. He penned the APRA Song of the Year My Island Home — later made iconic by Christine Anu — and co-wrote the landmark anthem Blackfella/Whitefella. Across four decades and ten solo albums, his songs have been recorded by Mary Black, Jimmy Little, Missy Higgins, Powderfinger and many more.
This tour celebrates his latest single, Still Here By My Side — a call from "the long and lonely road," with all the driving urgency, quiet truth-telling and deep sense of country that has come to define his work. Expect choice cuts from his critically acclaimed album The Telling, alongside landmark songs from a remarkable career.
"These recent songs came to me in a way that insisted themselves to be heard. They are a contribution to the process of truth-telling in this country." — Neil Murray
